About Us
Brittany
Like many '90s kids, I first discovered Japan through the magic of anime. Sailor Moon airing on Toonami started the spiral once I learned it was an anime from Japan, sparking a lifelong love affair with all things Japanese - anime, manga, gaming, language, food, the rich culture. Through a chain of unlikely events, I even met my husband through a local anime club. Together, we nurtured our shared passion, and eventually, in 2010, we made our first trip to Japan a reality. It was an unforgettable adventure with friends, solidifying our connection with an amazing country. Life happened - we started a family, and travel took a backseat for a while. In 2018, we had the opportunity to introduce our daughter to Japan, spending an incredible holiday season exploring Kyoto and Tokyo.

Our original plan was to return for the Olympics and then every two years, but the world had other ideas. Thankfully, we've been able to make it back in 2023 and 2024, exploring far outside the tourism belt, going to the countryside of Hokkaido and the cities in Kyushu. One of our major goals have been to visit the towers within the All-Japan Towers Association, working a few into every trip. We've even hosted Japanese exchange students through our local 4-H program, deepening our ties to the culture further. Outside of Japanese related hobbies, I find myself loving everything cat related (funny videos, pictures, meme, merchandise), playing board games and running in the occasional D&D campaign.

Japan holds a special place in my heart, and I'm so excited to share my experiences and tips with you. Whether you're a fellow anime fan, a seasoned traveler, foodie or simply curious about this fascinating country, I hope to inspire and assist you with embarking on your own Japanese journey.

Like many, my journey into Japanese culture began with anime, discovered through late-night viewings on STARZ. A high school friend deepened that connection, leading me down a path of anime conventions, fan clubs, and eventually, the creation of my own anime club. It was there that I met my wife, and my appreciation for Japanese culture really took root.
Together, we've sought to immerse ourselves in all things Japanese, from language studies, hosting exchange students, and trips to Japan where we could explore areas outside the big three. Gems like Matsumoto, Aomori, and Beppu show us sides of Japan that take us away from the busy and overcrowded spots. Trains are one of my passions and one of my favorite things to do is explore Japan through train tourism. The Gion line offers some of the most breathtaking views of the Sea of Japan, or the Romantic Scenic Train in Arashiyama that travels through beautiful mountains and rivers. When not exploring Japanese culture, I enjoy the simple pleasures of cruising in my Mustang, gaming, and serving as President of my local HOA.
With this new venture, my hope is to share the wonders of Japan with others, opening doors to experiences and adventures in the Land of the Rising Sun.
